The Ultimate Endurance Event
Rest Is Not
A Break.
It Is The
Event.
Forget arbitrary early mornings. The World Cup of Sleeping measures actual restorative recovery, penalizing sleep debt and rewarding optimal architecture.
View Official RulesThe Premise
We live in a culture that valorizes exhaustion. "I'll sleep when I'm dead" is a loser's philosophy. The true elites understand that sleep is the ultimate performance enhancer.
The World Cup of Sleeping turns recovery into competition. Competitors are tracked over a 14-day macrocycle. Points are awarded for sleep efficiency, REM and Deep Sleep duration, and circadian consistency.
Key Scoring Metrics
Sleep Efficiency
Time asleep divided by total time in bed. Target: >85%.
Architecture
Proportion of REM and Slow-Wave (Deep) sleep vs Light sleep.
Circadian Rhythm
Consistency of sleep onset and wake times across the 14 days.
Latency
Time taken to fall asleep. Ideal range: 10-20 minutes.
The Athlete's Toolkit
Precision requires measurement. Use our official calculators to establish your baselines before entering the event.
Caffeine Half-Life
Calculate precisely when your bloodstream will clear enough adenosine blockers to permit sleep onset.
Sleep Debt
Quantify your accumulated physiological deficit based on basal requirements vs actual duration.
Chronotype Anchor
Determine your optimal sleep window based on genetic predispositions and core body temperature minimums.
Event Divisions
Mono
The Standard
The classic monophasic division. Competitors are required to consolidate their rest into a single contiguous block per 24-hour cycle. High penalties for waking during the core phase.
Division Rules →Bi
The Siesta
Biphasic structure requiring a core sleep block at night and a shorter daytime prophylactic nap. Scoring heavily weights the timing precision of the daytime nap.
Division Rules →Poly
The Extreme
The grueling polyphasic division (Everyman or Uberman variants). Competitors fragment their sleep across 4-6 strict schedules blocks. Not recommended for amateurs.
